Pointe North Park is open from March 1 to October 31. During the winter months, the city of Urbana closes the gates to the park. The .5 mile gravel road leading to the entrance of the park with shrubs and a creek along side is open year-round, but access to the park itself is closed in the winter.

Pointe North is located just north of Grimes Field, at 2222 North US-68 in Urbana. The city of Urbana purchased the property, which used to be a gravel quarry, in 2006.
