Tips for Birding

Several parking areas are available to observe from a vehicle. The area is open for walking.

Birds of Interest

During the winter months: Short-eared Owls, Northern Harriers, Northern Shrike, Red-tailed and Rough-legged Hawks, American Tree Sparrows, and other year-round birds, like Northern Cardinals, Black-capped Chickadees, Red-bellied and Red-headed Woodpeckers, White-breasted Nuthatch.

About this Location

There's roughly-mowed maintenance roads that are walk-able. I believe that the area can be quite wet during the warm months. The north and south areas are divided by Bremer County Road C50. Gravel and paved roads border the north half of the area.
