About this Location

Alewife Brook Reservation covers 136 acres of land and includes wetlands, woodlands, and meadows. The park is named after Alewife Brook, a tributary of the Mystic River, which flows through the park. The park has playgrounds, playing fields, and bike paths for visitors to enjoy. The park was established in 1900 and is managed by the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation.

This sprawling urban forest is filled with wetlands and a variety of birds. Walk along limited trails to see a rare side of nature without leaving the city.

Open sunrise to sunset. No available parking on-site. Parking is available at Alewife MBTA station.
