Enter through the locked pedestrian gate (gate code is provided with permit; see below) and you will be on the berm between the two western cells. Continue east to view the eastern three cells. All five of the main cells usually have fairly high water and host a variety of ducks. When water levels are lower, shorebird diversity can be good. North of the pumping building is a small sprinkler cell which should be checked for shorebirds.
Access requirements:
A permit from the Municipality of Chatham-Kent is absolutely required. They can be obtained for free by requesting a permit by emailing to: ckinfo@chatham-kent.ca, whereupon they will send a blank permit for you to complete and return. Note: A new permit is required each year. Park on the east side of Lagoon Rd and access through the locked pedestrian gate (gate code provided with permit) opposite house #19712.
