The Muddy Boot Trail was built by students at the Trimble High School led by a local high school biology teacher. Students who helped build the trail nicknamed it the Muddy Boot Trail because it was very wet the fall of construction. The trail is used to engage students more fully in their physical environment and to raise their awareness of conservation issues. The trail provides a view of Glouster.
