Fort Adams State Park offers birders wonderful opportunities to either hike, bike, or bird by car. With ample parking and convenient roadside pull-off points, birding at Fort Adams is relatively easy. The rocky and rugged shoreline is a good spot to find shorebirds in the summer. But, look closely because one might miss the opportunity to bird some of the marshes towards the inside of the peninsula. Look for marsh birds such as bitterns and herons in these secluded patches.
