East Whitetail Canyon is primarily an area of private residences which have hosted some interesting species over time. From Portal, take Foothills Road to where it forks and bear left to the western turn to Hilltop Road. Coming from the south and Paradise, take Turkey Creek Road north several miles to Hilltop Road. Whitetail Canyon is essentially at the end of Hilltop.
