This 28-mile inactive rail line was converted to a paved hike and bike path with Ohio Department of Transportation funding. The path is open year-round for walking, jogging, bicycling, in-line skates, and strollers; no motorized vehicles are permitted (except handicap assistance vehicles).

  • The 6.5-mile section from Maple Street, Clyde to Smith Road, Fremont opened in 1997
  • A 5-mile section runs from Smith Road, Fremont to the intersection of Park Avenue and Hayes Avenue, then utilizes city streets through Fremont to Walter Avenue.
  • 10.5-mile section from Walter Avenue, Fremont to Lindsey to Elmore was acquired in1997 and opened in 2008. This section is also part of the Buckeye Trail.
  • 4.75-mile section from Maple Street, Clyde to County Road 177, Bellevue, opened in 2012.
