Mentor Beach Park is a spacious, scenic, 13-acre park overlooking Lake Erie. While situated in Mentor-on-the-Lake, the City of Mentor owns and maintains the park that includes a two-story, lakefront pavilion with barrier-free restrooms, a picnic grove, a playground, and a soccer field.
The 9-acre Mentor Beach Park is located at the end of Andrews Road OH-283) at Twilight Drive and Lake Shore Boulevard OH-283) in Mentor-on-the-Lake. It is owned and maintained by the city of Mentor.
The park was first established in 1899 as Mentor Township Park. Between 1931 and 1956, it was connected to Mentor Beach Playland, an amusement park adjacent to the south of Twilight Drive. The small amusement venue featured a dance hall, arcades, rides, and games. Today, the amenities at Mentor Beach Park include a reservable pavilion, picnic areas, playground equipment, and soccer fields.
The park’s 1,260-foot shore is accessible via two staircases on either side of the pavilion. Dirt trails also navigate the sloping vegetated bluff, leading to a protected beach. Swimming is prohibited.
