There is an agricultural field to the east that has been good in some winters for Horned Larks, Snow Buntings, and Longspurs. South of the entrance way is a grown-over area behind a fence that usually has a lot of passerine activity.
Saint Johns Cemetery is very small and not easy to find. There is a small sign on US-250. The cemetery itself consists of a few fairly large trees.
