From the entrance on Ward Drive, you can walk into this area, and you will soon find the lake, which you can walk along.
In winter, mostly ducks, and sometimes geese. Ring-necked Duck, Lesser Scaup, Bufflehead, Redhead, and Ruddy Duck can be numerous. Other less common duck species seen here include Blue-winged Teal, Canvasback, Greater Scaup, Common Goldeneye and Common Merganser. The Tufted Duck that has wintered in the Goleta area for many years is sometimes seen here.
The understanding of this contributor is that entry to this gated residential area is tolerated, but it might be appropriate to ask at the entrance first. Parking is available on Ward Drive.
