Official WebsiteJoe English, for whom the reservation is named, was a Native American who was friendly to the colonists in the late 1600s. For befriending the settlers from Massachusetts, Joe was much sought by hostile Indians from Canada south. He finally met his demise in 1706 but his name lives on in folklore and in our local place names.
The AllTrails website has a description and map of a hike at Joe English Conservation Land.
