Purgatory Falls is a scenic waterfall located on Purgatory Brook in Lyndeborough. The waterfall is also known as Lower Purgatory Falls, and it is the most popular and accessible of the three waterfalls on the brook. The waterfall is about 20 feet high and fairly wide, and it can be reached by a short and easy hike on Purgatory Brook Trail. The trailhead and parking area are on Purgatory Road, and the hike is about 0.6 miles out and back. Above the waterfall, there is a pond with a small cement dam, which can be seen from the top of the falls.
