Official WebsiteCambridge Cemetery was established in 1854 and covers 65 acres of land. The cemetery is the final resting place of many notable figures, such as poets Henry Wadsworth Longfellow and James Russell Lowell, mathematician Benjamin Peirce, and abolitionist Harriet Jacobs. The cemetery features a Gothic Revival chapel, a granite entrance gate, and a Soldiers' Monument dedicated to the Civil War veterans.
Cambridge Cemetery on Coolidge Avenue is open daily for visitors during the summer season from 7 AM to dusk and during the winter season from 7 am until 5 pm.
Cambridge Cemetery is adjacent to Mount Auburn Cemetery which has been designated as an Important Bird Area.
