Jackson Street Pier

Jackson Street Pier

Sandusky, Ohio 44870

About this Location

Jackson Street Pier is located on West Shoreline Drive at Jackson Street in downtown Sandusky.

The pier is a large impervious-surfaced parking lot that features a 1,000-foot-long paved walkway around much of its perimeter. Benches and binoculars are available along the path for panoramic views of Sandusky Bay. Fishing is permitted from the pier. The Jackson Street Pier is also the docking and boarding site for the Goodtime I, Jet Express, and Pelee Islander ferry boats, which seasonally transport passengers to the Lake Erie Islands. Overnight island-goers are charged a parking fee during the summer months. Parking on the pier is free otherwise.

The southern edge of Sandusky Harbor’s 5,800-foot long by 330-foot wide Dock Channel, a federal shipping channel, is located less than 100 yards from the pier, providing extremely close views of passing Great Lakes freighters.
