Woods, some open fields, parts of the trail follow a stream. This is a well used bike trail, be careful of bike riders.

Clear Creek Trail running from Camp Cardinal [W end] to 12th Av [E end]. This 0.9 mile paved segment is one the best parts of the trail. The trail more or less parallels Hwy 6. The East end of this segment is the 12th Ave access is reached by a spur that crosses Clear Creek, goes under Hwy 6 and comes up near the 12th Av x Hwy 6 intersection. There is a small lot with facilities, at Camp Cardinal [The Tom Harkin Trailhead]. Parking is available at the businesses across Hwy 6. Woods along and above Clear Creek.
