Hitting the Hot Spots in Fremont County by Ross Silcock (2003). Bring a spotting scope if you have one.
Migrating waterfowl and shorebirds.
Important Bird Area.
From Shenandoah, take westbound Highway 2 to county road L-68 and turn south. This will take you to the east end of the WMA. Stay on L-68, and drive through the town of Riverton. In Riverton, turn west on County Road J-46. Just west of town is the south end of the WMA. There are very poor signs to this area. Be sure to review a map before you go.
There is a very nice perimeter road, but it is closed at times.
