Important Bird Area.

Situated high on the bluff overlooking the Mississippi River, this park offers great viewpoints as well as wonderful birding for northeastern woodland species. The butterfly garden at the nature center, with an easy trail to meander, annually hosts many species.

From the south edge of the town of Bellevue, watch for the turn into the state park which leads up to the top of the bluff. This section is where you will find several parking areas and the nature center. Camping is available in the more southern Dyas Unit reached from 429th Avenue.
