About this Location

This wildlife area consists of 150 acres of prairie, perfect for public hunting of upland game species. The area was willed to the Hardin County Conservation Board in 1994 by Arthur Hilker for the creation of wildlife habitat.

In the late fall of 2007, 90 acres of mixed prairie was planted into the corn stubble days before the first snowflakes touched the ground. The seed was from Carl Kurtz with some additional seed added from Swanson seed farm.

This Farm is located on the Hardin/Story County line. It is 6 miles South of Hubbard on U. S. Hwy 65 and 1 ¼ miles west on 340th St. located on the north side of the toad.
