This location is no longer a pond. It belongs to the City of Rutland and they drained it several years ago because they were worried about an invasive getting into the city's water supply. There used to be a pull-off and information kiosk. The kiosk is gone. There is now a stream and nice-looking shrubbery.
There is a parking pull-off on the north side of Route 4 which provides views of a meadow that was formerly a beaver pond.
