Freeman Prairie Reserve is adjacent to Canal Locks Park on the south side of the Great Miami River in Tipp City.

Freeman Prairie is accessible from 2 locations

• At the west end of the prairie at Canal Lock Park (where the Great Miami River Recreational Trail passes through as well)
• At the east end of the prairie along OH-571 where there is a small grass parking area. On the south side of OH-571 across from the parking area is a large pond open for fishing (and birding).

Freeman Prairie has grass paths through the prairie. Also, there is a narrow packed dirt path along the Great Miami River next to OH-571 near the prairie area which offers scenic views of the river.
