Payson Park Reservoir is a water supply reservoir located in Belmont. It is part of the Cambridge Water System, which provides drinking water to the city of Cambridge and some neighboring communities. The reservoir was constructed in 1875 and has a capacity of 180 million gallons. The reservoir is surrounded by a park that offers recreational opportunities such as walking, jogging, biking, fishing, and picnicking. The reservoir and the park are open to the public from dawn to dusk.
