About this Location

A section for hiking and biking travels around the Waynesburg Village Park Loop Trail with a playground, picnic shelter, and basketball court next to the parking area. It then continues across OH-183 and travels .76 mile on a limestone trail from West Street to Greer Street following an old railroad route. A parking area is available at Maple Street. Equestrian access begins at Maple Street and heads east over Greer Avenue. Hiking is also permitted on this natural surface portion. The loop trails off the Sandy Valley Trail are for horseback riding only. Biking is not permitted east of Greer Avenue at this time.

The Sandy Valley Trail will eventually serve as a major southeast trail system connecting the communities of East Sparta, Magnolia, Waynesburg, Malvern, and Minerva. With Fry Family Park serving as the major trailhead on the west end, the trail will head east along the Sandy Valley, linking to the historic Magnolia Flouring Mills in downtown Magnolia and showcasing scenic vistas.
