Tips for Birding

This hotspot covers all of Camino Rio Verde from Camino Meleno northwest to the end of pavement at a ranch gate, as well as the short stretch of Camino Meleno from North Patterson north to Camino Rio Verde. It consists of a suburban residential area where it occurs along the West Fork of San Jose Creek. The creek is viewable where it crosses Camino Meleno and at several points where it parallels Camino Rio Verde. Plantings that attract birds in the winter and at other seasons include ironbark eucalyptus, persimmons, and pines, among others. Parking is available throughout the area. You can avoid competing with residents for parking by leaving your car on Camino Meleno or on the south side of Camino Rio Verde just above its intersection with Camino Meleno.
