Tips for Birding

There is a small graveled cul-de-sac at the north end of Morgan Road that gives access to the middle of the loop trail around the preserve. There is also a trail entrance from the north parking lot of the Church of the Resurrection Catholic Church on Fodor Road.

It is a small natural area sandwiched between retail facilities and housing developments. The preserve contains a nice mix of habitats within, including small ponds, marsh, mature woodlot, and vernal pools. There is a multitude of nesting boxes, some of which don’t seem maintained any longer. There are also boardwalks, bridges, and other wooden structures that are well-weathered. An intertwining network of trails sometimes dead-end or gradually disappear, but the main loop is mostly packed gravel or hard flat earth and easy to walk.

There is a blog post with photos and a description of a visit to the wetland.

The All Trails website has a description with a detailed map of a 1.2-mile walk on the trails at the nature preserve.
