The Middlefield Retention Ponds are surrounded by private homes on the east and west, businesses on the south, and Eagle Park on the north.

The southern pond may be viewed from the Rite Aid parking lot. It can be viewed directly from a vehicle and thus is an ideal location for winter or rain conditions.

The northern pond can be seen from Eagle Park by walking a short distance from the parking lot.

A scope can be helpful but often is not necessary as the ponds are not large.
