In recent years Bell’s Vireos have nested along the Heritage Trail south of Hayden Run Rd. This section of the Heritage Trail can be accessed from the Heritage Trail Metro Park or from the south via Homestead Park.

The 87-acre Heritage Trail Park is adjacent to the Heritage Rail Trail, a 6.1-mile multi-purpose trail converted from an abandoned right-of-way, with a parallel bridle trail. The paved trail starts in Old Hilliard off Main Street and continues toward Plain City.
