Captain Sargent Conservation Area is a 118-acre property in Stow that offers a variety of recreational opportunities for visitors. The land was donated by the Sargent family in 1997 and is managed by the Stow Conservation Trust. The property features diverse habitats, including wetlands, woodlands, meadows, and a pond. Activities include hiking, biking, birdwatching, fishing, and picnicking on the trails and open spaces. The land preserves the historical and cultural heritage of the area, as it contains the remnants of an old mill, a stone bridge, and a cemetery dating back to the 1700s. Captain Sargent Conservation Area is open to the public year-round.
