Opened in the fall of 2008, the Community Fitness Trail has added a much-needed facility for the campus and community users. The facility is located to the northwest of Kahn Track and Shults Field. Access to the facility can be made through the main gate in the western tree line near the intramural fields. The trail has a variety of configurations but specifically is designed to have a 1 mile, 1K, and 800m loops. In the fall of 2012, the trails received a new bed of shredded bark to improve the running surface and provide one of the top cross-country teams in the country with a championship facility.

The facility is open to the public from dawn to dusk, weather permitting, and is the current home to the Oberlin College cross-country team.
