Indian Green Cemetery and Worden Conservation Area

Tips for Birding

There is a limited amount of parking at the cemetery. There is a pull off at the intersection of OH-186 and US-224, but traffic along US-224 makes this an iffy spot to park. Birders can also park at the north lot of Litzenberg Memorial Woods and walk the roughly .5 mile to reach Indian Green.

This is a good migrant trap along the Blanchard River. If one walks west of the cemetery about 250 yards, a trail turns off to the left that leads to the east boundary of the south part of Litzenberg Memorial Woods.

Going east from the cemetery about .25 mile, one reaches the Township Road 128 bridge over the Blanchard River, one of the only known locations in Hancock County where Cliff Swallows are breeding.

About this Location

Indian Green-Worden Family Conservation Area is east of and adjacent to Litzenberg Memorial Woods. It was created to preserve the natural area along the Blanchard River, expand wildlife habitat, and improve access to the Heritage Trail, which begin in the south unit of Litzenberg Memorial Woods.
