Eaglet lake covers 828 ha and and a shoreline perimeter of 23 km. The lake is located approximately 40 km northeast of Prince Goerge via Highway 16 to Willow River then to Giscome. The lake is accessed from here. A cartop boat launching area is provided.
The lake experiences water quality issues and mid-summer algal blooms. The water is murky and the lake is eutrophic as indicated by high phosphorus and chlorophyll a values. The lake does not stratify strongly during summer and evidence exists of significant internal phosphorus loading during this period. Analysis of sediment cores suggest the lake has maintained a relatively stable, eutrophic nature for the past 400 years, at least in terms of diatom composition which may or may not be related to the algal blooms.
