Official WebsiteSupplied with water from the meandering Wild Rice River, the large wetlands at Tewaukon National Wildlife Refuge attract hundreds of thousands of migratory waterfowl during spring and fall migration. The amazing flights of thousands of waterfowl, shorebirds, and wading birds are visible on the Refuge as they rest and feed on Refuge wetlands.
We invite you to observe wildlife from May 1 through September 30 on the portion of the Refuge located east of County Road 12. The Refuge is closed to this activity at all other times to provide a sanctuary for wildlife.
